Hi I'm Catherine McVeety, but most people call me Cate!
I’m a student at Syracuse University studying Communications and Rhetorical Studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, with minors in Marketing through the Whitman School of Management and Public Communications through the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. My interests live at the intersection of creativity, communication and storytelling, especially through advertising, branding, photography and content creation.
Originally from Monmouth County, New Jersey, I graduated from Red Bank Regional High School, where I studied photography and first began developing my creative perspective. Since then, I’ve continued exploring different ways to turn ideas into something visual, meaningful and memorable.
Travel is also a huge source of inspiration for me. I’m constantly collecting photos, stories and new perspectives from the places I visit. Most recently, I spent a semester studying abroad in London, an experience that pushed me creatively and gave me an even greater appreciation for culture, media and visual storytelling.
Whether I’m behind a camera, developing a campaign or bringing an idea to life, I’m happiest when I’m creating something that makes people stop, look and feel something.
